Abstract

In a manufacturing plant there might be a huge difference about knowledge of the current situation between the shop floor personnel and the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), especially when data collection of manufacturing processes are semi automated and some production parameters must be told to MES by a human worker. In this paper we analyze the interaction or the missing of interaction between the shop floor personnel and the MES. We assigned the workers and the MES to agents pursuing their manufacturing goals (machine utility, report accuracy, etc.), and we simulated the execution of given or dynamically generated schedule. Our goal is to create a simulation and test environment where the development of a reward / punishment method or new Business Process Flow can be evaluated.
