Abstract

In order to enhance the performance of LQG control of linear parameter-varying systems the design technique is improved by using parameter-dependent quadratic Lyapunov function instead of single quadratic Lyapunov function. This new method is able to adapt to performance degradation on the parameter region, thus enlarges the operating domain on which stability can be guaranteed. The controller synthesis method searches for parameter-dependent quadratic Lyapunov function for the closed loop by solving linear matrix-inequalities and simultaneously minimizes a linear function in order to minimize the LQG cost function. The results and improvements on quality are demonstrated on a nonlinear 2-state fermentation process
